More than 150 firefighters, family members and court personnel packed the ceremonial courtroom at a special session yesterday of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District in Brooklyn to remember seven firefighters from a nearby firehouse who were killed responding to the 9/11 terror attacks.

Chief Judge Carol Bagley Amon, at podium, told the gathering that the session honored all 343 firefighters who “in a valiant attempt to save lives, lost their own.” During the session, a plaque was unveiled, below, commemorating the seven firefighters from Engine Company 207/ Ladder 110 in Brooklyn Heights.
