Electronic surveillance, the testimony of government cooperators and evidence of clandestine behavior proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Zvi Goffer led an insider trading ring that fed off information stolen by two former lawyers at Ropes & Gray, a prosecutor said yesterday.

Southern District Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Tarlowe insisted to a jury during summation that “devastating” evidence linked Mr. Goffer, his brother, Emanuel Goffer, and their partner, Michael Kimelman, to Ropes & Gray lawyers Brien Santarlas and Arthur Cutillo.
