An article on May 3, “Attorney for Celebrity Advisor Pleads Guilty,” incorrectly stated that former Winston & Strawn partner Jonathan Bristol used law firm escrow accounts to launder money for Kenneth Starr, who is serving time in prison for defrauding clients of millions of dollars.
The article should have stated that Mr. Bristol was the sole owner of the only attorney trust account at issue. A firm spokesman said Friday, “The conduct to which ex-partner Jonathan Bristol pleaded guilty was neither authorized nor known to others at the firm. The firm has cooperated fully with the authorities investigating this matter.”
