Denouncing what he called an “attempt to muzzle a sitting judge,” Acting Supreme Court Justice Joel L. Blumenfeld (See Profile) on Friday blasted Queens District Attorney Richard Brown’s attempt to block him from ruling on the ethics of the district attorney’s pre-arraignment interview program (NYLJ, Oct. 15) .

Justice Blumenfeld’s sharply worded reply to Mr. Brown’s petition for a writ of prohibition seems unlikely to soften the tenor of the bitter dispute between the judge and the Queens District Attorney’s Office.
