A former judge’s decade-long quest to win appointment as a judicial hearing officer in traffic court has hit a dead end.

Nassau County Supreme Court Justice Ute Wolffe Lally (See Profile) last week rejected the claim of former District Court Judge Samuel M. Levine that former County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi had violated his First Amendment rights by refusing to appoint him a hearing officer of the county’s Traffic and Parking Violation Agency (TPVA).
