New York City is attempting to recruit an additional 300 attorneys over the next three months to provide legal assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg announced this week.

“No family facing the loss of their home should be without representation,” Mr. Bloomberg said in a statement. “With a small commitment from just some of the 90,000 attorneys in the city, we can make sure every family in need has a better chance of staying in their home.”
