The nonprofit Immigrant Defense Project (IDP), which provides representation to litigants facing criminal charges that may affect their immigration status and other services, has named Marie Mark as its executive director.

Mark has almost two decades of experience working with defendants facing immigration consequences. She has been with the 14-attorney IDP for the last eight years, in which time she oversaw the formation of the Padilla Support Center, which takes its namesake from a landmark U.S. Supreme Court cases dealing with defendants’ immigration consequences and provides training to public defenders on the issue.
