New York’s migrant system is “completely broken,” and that was even before the current wave of asylum seekers reached upward of 175,000 newcomers, state Assemblymember Catalina Cruz, D-Queens, told a throng of advocates in the Albany Capitol on Wednesday.
“There’s no repairing it; there’s patching it,” said Cruz, who is a Colombian-American immigration attorney.
