Recent decisions by New York’s highest court have “invigorated” criminal appellate lawyers, a top practitioner said during a continuing legal education program.

Tim Hoover, a founding partner of litigation and criminal defense at Hoover & Durland in Buffalo and a former president of a New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, made the suggestion during a 90-minute review of the “new” Court of Appeals with Victor Paladino, a 37-year veteran of the state solicitor’s office.
