Lawyers for former president Donald Trump on Monday attacked an independent monitor assigned to overseeing his business, alleging that a recently issued report represented an “abusive process” that failed to provide a factual basis for continued oversight, but “desperately seeks” to create a foundation for further payment of fees.

Former U.S. District Judge Barbara Jones, who is currently serving as independent monitor to the Trump Org., issued a report last week highlighting that “misstatements and errors” continued to occur in the business’ accounting that she said may continue to occur.
