What are some of the department’s most satisfying successes and why? Simpson Thacher remains at the forefront of significant insurance litigation across the country, securing numerous high-stakes wins on behalf of clients this year. We achieved several victories for Travelers, including defeating Northrop Grumman’s efforts to shift onto its insurer losses stemming from Northrop’s historical environmental contamination—our eleventh summary judgment win in that case; and prevailing on threshold issues in bigticket litigation between Travelers and Montrose.
