U.S. Magistrate Judge Taryn Merkl of the Eastern District of New York on Friday denied former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s motion to compel the New York State Office of the Attorney General to comply with a subpoena related to its investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct by Cuomo.

Merkl also granted the New York State Assembly Judiciary Committee’s cross-motion to quash Cuomo’s subpoena in connection with the committee’s own investigation into allegations against the former governor, who resigned in August 2021.
