As one of the seven finalists for the role of chief judge on the New York Court of Appeals, Selendy Gay Elsberg partner Caitlin Halligan’s extensive experience in appellate law is unquestioned.

Halligan has argued six cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. She served as New York’s solicitor general from 2001 to 2007, was general counsel to former Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. and led Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher’s appellate and constitutional law practice before moving to Selendy Gay in 2019.
