The Democratic-controlled New York Senate on Thursday passed Gov. Kathy Hochul’s program bill that would allow her to choose one of three New York Court of Appeals associate judges for chief judge, and then refer to the same shortlist of judicial nominees to fill the subsequent vacancy for associate judge, if she wanted to take that course of action.
It passed, just three days after its introduction, 39-23.
