The departures of Carey Dunne and Mark Pomerantz, two of the leaders of the Manhattan district attorney’s criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump’s business activities, signal that the investigation is unlikely to lead to criminal charges for the former president or his family, experienced attorneys said Thursday.

News of the departures of Dunne, who served as general counsel to former Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance Jr., and Pomerantz, who took a leave of absence from Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in 2021 specifically to help with the Trump matter, was broken Wednesday by The New York Times.
