Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. and New York Attorney General Letitia James sat together at the arraignment of the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg on Thursday, and both prosecutors’ offices made it clear that their investigation into the former president’s business activity is ongoing.

But New York lawyers with expertise in white-collar crime say it’s hard to predict what will come next in the case now that Weisselberg and the Trump Organization have pleaded not guilty.
