An attorney for Brooklyn Defender Services has been charged with spending thousands in loan proceeds intended to help business owners weather the COVID-19 pandemic on personal expenses and gambling, the Queens District Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday.
Jamie Burke, 59, of Queens, was charged with two counts of grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing, according to a news release.
