A trio of Republican candidates won elections on Tuesday to serve as Supreme Court justices in two upstate districts.

According to results from the state Board of Elections, Danielle Fogel, the president of the Onondaga County Bar Association, secured 54% of the vote to defeat former Democratic U.S. House Rep. Anthony Brindisi for a vacant judgeship in the Fifth Judicial District, which includes Syracuse and the counties of Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida, Onondaga and Oswego.
