New York Attorney General Letitia James is suing Rensselaer County election officials, arguing the county election board violated the state’s early voting law.

The state attorney general’s office says the Rensselaer County Board of Elections did not pick an early voting site that was easily accessible to people who live in Troy. The city is the most populous municipality in the county and holds sizable Black and Hispanic communities compared to the county as a whole, according to the office.
