What were some of your most satisfying successes of the past year, and why? The Silver Spike/Weedmaps transaction was definitely a highlight. That transaction combined all of the multidisciplinary complications of the SPAC structure with a highly regulated industry overlay, by virtue of the target business operating in the cannabis space. The transaction really allowed us to showcase the depth of our firm’s areas of expertise.

What qualities make a great dealmaker? Experience, creativity and the ability to find common ground across the working group—together with a high-touch and highly responsive approach to clients given the fast-paced nature of deals today.
