Two New Yorkers with histories in economics on both the state and national scales were named by the Biden administration to the National Economic Council on Friday.

Former Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Deputy Director Leandra English will serve as the council’s chief of staff and the president’s special assistant, while Columbia law professor and antitrust advocate Tim Wu was appointed to assist on technology and competition policy.
