A Manhattan federal judge on Wednesday blocked a pair of controversial right-wing political operatives from continuing a multistate disinformation campaign that used thousands of robocalls to intimidate Black voters and discourage them from voting by mail in the 2020 election.

In a fiery opinion that invoked the horrors of racial terrorism, U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero of the Southern District of New York found that the calls, orchestrated by Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, violated provisions of the Voting Rights Act and the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871.
