Practice Profile: Alexia Korberg represents clients in high-stakes commercial disputes across a range of industries, including private equity, media, banking, energy, insurance, and technology.  She also advises on commercial and regulatory matters, with a focus on M&A-related issues. She regularly litigates cases in state and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate levels, and in arbitration.

Leadership, Pro Bono and Civic Work: Alexia has also developed a reputation—one that has led to national press coverage and regular speaking invitations—for her pro bono commitment to LGBTQ+ and women’s rights.  She has successfully litigated a number of LGBTQ rights cases, including United States v. Windsor, and two Mississippi cases striking down the state’s gay marriage ban and invalidating a law that prevented same-sex couples from fostering or adoption children.  Alexia currently represents the last remaining abortion provider in Mississippi in its challenge to the state’s regime of unconstitutional abortion restrictions.

What advice would you give to young lawyers? Instead of getting overwhelmed with trying to make partner or worrying about what you will do for the rest of your career, just focus on the craft of lawyering, and getting just a little bit better at it than you were the day before.  It’s fun to be part of a profession where everyone—regardless of how long they have been practicing—is participating in a lifelong project to improve.
