Diane Gujarati, a prosecutor with decades of experience in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, was confirmed Thursday as the newest district judge in the Eastern District of New York.

The U.S. Senate voted 99-0 in favor of confirming Gujarati, who was first nominated to the federal bench by President Barack Obama and renominated by President Donald Trump. U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, D-California, who was in Florida on Thursday campaigning on the Democratic presidential ticket, did not vote on the confirmation.
