McDermott Will & Emery has settled a legal malpractice suit brought by a tourism group that alleged the firm botched its separation agreement with its former CEO.
Destination Marketing Association, a resource group for convention and visitor bureaus, filed the suit in February 2017 against McDermott and two firm lawyers, Banks Brown and Kristin Michaels, for legal malpractice in advising the nonprofit on a 2015 separation agreement with the former CEO, Michael Gehrisch.
