The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday denied a student group’s request that it be allowed to host a drag show fundraiser at West Texas A&M University this month, with no noted dissents from the justices.

Spectrum WT has been fighting to stage its charity drag show, which it says will be “PG-13,” since last March but has been rebuffed by school president Walter Wendler, who has opposed such performances as “derisive, divisive, and demoralizing” and denigrating to women. The student group says Wendler is violating the First Amendment and asked the Supreme Court last week for an emergency injunction that would allow the group to host this year’s event next Friday.
