New York’s top court is set to hear arguments on Tuesday regarding a state law that requires religious organizations to provide for “medically necessary abortions” within their health insurance coverage.
The Court of Appeals initially refused to grant leave in Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany v. Vullo, but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of religious coalition plaintiffs in 2021, putting the constitutional law matter in front of New York’s top court.
