Attorneys general from 41 states and the District of Columbia sued Meta Platforms Inc. Tuesday for causing a mental health crisis among America’s youth.

California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and 26 other states, in a bipartisan coalition, filed a federal lawsuit alleging Meta, which operates Instagram and Facebook, collects data on children under 13 years old without parental consent in violation of U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
