Finding international law bars civil suits against foreign heads of state, a federal judge dismissed claims against the crown prince of Saudi Arabia after the family of slain journalist Jamal Khashoggi tried to hold Mohammed bin Salman responsible for his death.

U.S. District Judge John D. Bates of the District of Columbia in an opinion released Tuesday afternoon said, “In light of the Statement of Interest filed by the United States … the Court concludes that the case must be dismissed at this time.”
