Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman attorneys Peter Baumgaertner, Daniel Brown and Frank Vivero, who all specialize in Latin America, have jumped to Holland & Knight’s New York office.
James McDermott, the head of Holland & Knight’s business section, said Baumgaertner’s work in Latin America, where he counsels financial institutions and other creditors on insolvencies and restructurings for corporate borrowers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico, would be a great asset for the firm.
“Peter has a sophisticated practice and impressive roster of clients, for which he handles matters worldwide,” said McDermott in a statement. “Given our firm’s strategic focus on Latin America, his significant experience in the region will be of particular value.”
Baumgaertner’s practice includes capital markets, project financing, restructuring, public-private partnerships and public finance transactions for a global clientele.
Brown and Vivero join Holland & Knight as senior counsel. Both also have corporate law experience in Latin America, previously handling M&A’s, financing and public and private offerings throughout South America as well as Asia.
Pillsbury did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the departures.
