Practice Profile: Stephen Broome handles complex commercial disputes in trial and appellate courts and arbitral tribunals. He has argued appeals before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Circuit Courts of Appeals, and state appellate courts. Stephen has litigated disputes relating to complex financial products and transactions, infrastructure finance, civil antitrust and competition claims, and claims related to bankruptcy. He has represented a broad array of funds and individual investors, corporations in a range of industries, and trustees and committees in bankruptcy proceedings.

Last year, Stephen argued before the U.S. Supreme Court in Sessions v. Morales-Santana, and due to his efforts the U.S. Supreme Court finally held unconstitutional a federal statute making it easier for mothers than fathers to confer derivative U.S. citizenship on their non-marital children born abroad. The law had been in place for more than 75 years, and had been challenged unsuccessfully in the Supreme Court three times before.
