A steady stream of personal injury cases against Occidental started in Superior Court last week, with former employees of a now-demolished New Castle chemical plant claiming they’ve experienced health problems due to mercury exposure on the job.
Between June 22 and Monday afternoon, at least 21 cases had been filed, all by Grant & Eisenhofer and Joey James, an attorney based in Florence, Alabama. They’ve been assigned to Superior Court Judge Sheldon Rennie.
