Attorneys general from several states, including New York and California, announced Wednesday a $26 billion global settlement to resolve lawsuits against the nation's three largest distributors of opiate pharmaceuticals and Johnson & Johnson. The deal, which is dependent on how many governments participate, also aims to resolves the vast majority of more than 4,000 lawsuits filed by cities and counties.
