Two years after the group filed for Chapter 11 protection, the Boy Scouts of America’s proposed bankruptcy plan went before Judge Laurie Selber Silverstein for approval on Monday.

Testimony in the confirmation hearing is expected to last through March 25, and if Silverstein approves the plan, the current version of which was submitted Feb. 15, the BSA and parties that have reached agreements could move forward with distributing a $2.7 billion settlement trust to more than 82,000 people who have claimed sexual abuse within the scouting organization.
