A jury has awarded $858,600 in damages to a southeast Georgia company in a contract dispute case, and now attorneys on both sides of the aisle declared the decision a victory of sorts.

On March 29, at the end of a two-day trial in Effingham County State Court before Judge Stephen Yekel, the jury found in favor of plaintiff Southern Precision Metals Inc. (SPM), a company that makes metal aviation parts. The jury also found in favor of SPM and against defendant Aerodynamic Aviation Inc. (AAI) regarding AAI’s counterclaim, in which they sued for damages and requested about $150,000 in attorney fees and court costs, and that neither side acted in bad faith.
