On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations to Judge Andrew A. Pinson of the Court of Appeals of Georgia on his appointment by Gov. Brian Kemp to become the newest justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia, succeeding Chief Justice David E. Nahmias, who has announced his retirement from the bench.

Justice Pinson brings 10 years of experience in the legal profession and justice system to his new position, including service as a law clerk to both Justice Clarence Thomas of the U.S. Supreme Court and then-Chief Judge David Sentelle of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, in private practice with Jones Day in Atlanta, as solicitor general in the Georgia Office of the Attorney General and since Aug. 30 on the Court of Appeals.
