A Florida appellate court has ruled against a Miami police officer who was fired and subsequently rehired … only to be fired once again.

On Wednesday the Third District Court of Appeal upheld Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Brownyn Miller’s order denying Adrian Rodriguez’s motion requesting the court hold Miami city manager Emilio Gonzalez and Miami Police Chief Jorge Colina in contempt of court. Rodriguez filed the request after he failed to be reinstated as a police officer per an arbitration agreement that was reached following his 2016 termination. According to the appellate panel’s order, Rodriguez’s firing had origins in the 2012 discovery that his brother and father possibly had been involved in a 2007 homicide.
