McDonough-Souza Joins Neubert, Pepe & Monteith
Emily McDonough Souza joined Neubert, Pepe & Monteith in Fairfield as an associate in the firm’s medical and professional malpractice defense groups. Before joining Neubert Pepe, McDonough clerked for Judge Eliot D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court in Hartford. She received her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut and her J.D. magna cum laude from the Quinnipiac University School of Law.
Carter Mario Hires Two New Attorneys
Lee Tiernan and Beatriz Moran-Torres have joined Carter Mario as attorneys. Moran-Torres joins the firm’s prelitigation team as a bilingual attorney at the firm’s Bridgeport office. Moran-Torres is fluent in Spanish and licensed to practice law in Connecticut, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. She is proficient in personal injury, civil litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, criminal and juvenile defense. She also works on summary process and family law matters.
Moran-Torres practiced in Norwalk and Stamford before joining the firm. Tiernan joins the firm’s litigation team in the firm’s Milford office. Tiernan brings 26 years of practicing law, including dozens of trials before juries in state and federal courts. Tiernan was assistant director of the Connecticut Urban Legal Initiative, a nonprofit law firm affiliated with the University of Connecticut Law School. She also operated a private solo practice.
