The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on Thursday awarded an 11th-hour deportation reprieve to a Guatemalan native and married father of two young children living in Connecticut, who was less two hours from being deported.

Joel Colindres, 33, was scheduled to leave the U.S. at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, said his attorney, Erin O’Neil-Baker, and was awaiting his flight out of an undisclosed New York State airport when the federal appeals court issued a temporary stay of the deportation order at 2:30 p.m.
