The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has upheld a ruling from a Connecticut judge that dismissed discrimination and retaliation complaints against Citizens Financial Group.

Revindran Nadesan, a Singapore native who worked out of the company’s Bridgeport office, had claimed he was subject “to a pattern of continuous discrimination on the basis of his national origin.” His suit alleged harassment by colleagues and supervisors that included being called a “fake Indian” and asserted that his co-workers received training, merit increases and professional development opportunities that were denied to him.
