The attorneys representing families of the victims in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre have appealed their case to the Connecticut Supreme Court, claiming the gun manufacturers “chose to sell a weapon of war and aggressively market its assaultive capabilities.”

Last month, Superior Court Judge Barbara Bellis granted motions from the gun manufacturers Remington Arms Co. and Bushmaster Firearms to dismiss the complaint, which alleged the companies should be held civilly liable for the shooting that left 20 children and six educators dead.
