A former Somers prison inmate who sued the state after correction officers beat him in 2004 will be awarded $500,000 under a settlement of the case.
Robert Joslyn, 32, filed a lawsuit in federal court earlier this year alleging prison guards beat him up because he complained to officials that excessive force was being used against other inmates.
