Plaintiffs attorneys secured a $12.5 million settlement going up against defense counsel from Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey in a class action on behalf of low-income renters whose apartments were allegedly filled with infestations of toxic mold.

David Rosen of David Rosen & Associates and co-counsel Amity Arscott of Embry, Neusner Arscott & Shafner represented the plaintiffs. Rosen said the parties worked together quickly to reach a settlement. “We all realized that it wasn’t in anyone’s interest to litigate this case up and down the Connecticut judicial system, and it was in everybody’s interest to try to get it resolved,” he said.
