A female emergency medical technician for ambulance service American Medical Response of Connecticut has filed a lawsuit against the company. She alleges that she was sexually assaulted by a co-worker amid an environment where sexual harassment and gender discrimination were the norm, according to the complaint.

“This is about a tenacious, courageous young woman, wise beyond her years, who knew what was happening to her was wrong on every level,” said her attorney, Nina T. Pirrotti, a partner with Garrison, Levin-Epstein, Fitzgerald & Pirrotti. “Even though each door was slammed in her face, she continued to open others until her voice was heard.”
