Former judges Joette Katz and Angela Robinson recently joined the advisory council of Connecticut Court Appointed Special Advocates, the national volunteer organization dedicated to advocating for children who have experienced abuse and neglect.

Katz, a partner at Shipman & Goodwin, served eight years as Commissioner of the Connecticut State Department of Children and Families and 18 years as an associate justice on the Connecticut Supreme Court. She has been a presenter at national convenings on child welfare, has received distinctions including the Outstanding Leadership Award from Lawyers for Children America and is a member of the Connecticut Law Tribune’s editorial board.
