Amazon.com was sued Wednesday in Connecticut District Court over alleged race-based employment discrimination. The suit was brought by pro se plaintiff Evan Glenn. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant.
Glenn, who is black, alleges wrongful termination, retaliation and racial discrimination in connection with his firing in 2019, after a New York Times investigation revealed black workers at Amazon were 50 percent more likely to be fired than white employees. The plaintiff alleges his termination was part of “that purge” in 2019.
