Discover Financial Services paid Chief Legal Officer Hope Mehlman $6.6 million in her first year on the job, a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing shows.
Mehlman joined Riverwoods, Illinois-based Discover on Jan. 9, 2023, from San Francisco-based Bank of the West, where she’d been general counsel for four years. While at Bank of the West, she helped engineer its $16 billion sale to Bank of Montreal, a transaction that was announced in December 2021 and closed in February 2023.
