A unanimous California Supreme Court on Thursday said its landmark worker-classification ruling in Dynamex extends retroactively.
Writing for the court, Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye said the 2018 case Dynamex Operations West v. Superior Court addressed an issue of first impression, not a settled rule defining employees and independent contractors.
