Law firm leaders were already expecting increased costs in 2022, with rising inflation, ongoing talent battles and more pre-pandemic activities back on the table.

But new research this week helps illustrate the level of payroll pressure that may be on law firms this year. Nearly two-thirds of legal workers plan to ask for a pay raise in 2022, according to a survey from staffing outfit Robert Half, with respondents pointing to a higher cost of living and added job responsibilities.
