A former client of Hunton Andrews Kurth is seeking more than $750,000 in a legal malpractice lawsuit against the Am Law 100 firm alleging its former China practice chair botched due diligence in a proposed deal.

Plaintiff Rock Fintek alleges in a complaint filed in Miami on Monday that former China partner Jerry Li failed to discover through due diligence that a proposed deal for Rock Fintek to acquire 200 million protective medical gloves for its hospital client during the pandemic was a scam, and it followed the firm’s advice to wire $6.2 million to a company in Thailand.
